June in Pictures…(the first 7 days…)

So Tamara over at Beauty Thesis, posted a new photo a day for June. Anyway, I wanted to try and participate but decided to lump them…So here are the first 7 days…

1 Summer Inspiration

Photo A Day
My summer inspirations are the fun prints I could wear.
The first two tops from the left are from Stitches, the black and white one is from Mexx, the bue one is from Anne Klein, and the last one is a dress from Express that I picked up at the end of last summer.

2 Coral
Photo A Day
Truthfully I don’t get coral. Orange-y pinks? Hard to pin point in my view. So I went by name lol
We have Benefit Coralista, a LE Marcelle Blush I got from the Lisa’s Sale a few years back, and Loreal Wet Lip Shine in Coral Tattoo (which is more orange)

3 Refreshing
Photo A Day
Evian Mineral Water Spray, Avene Thermal Spring Water spays are a constant stocked product for me. I spay them on my face when it gets really hot, and had a mini spray that I used to keep in my softball bag when I’d play. That way I could refresh my arms and legs as well. I am looking in to trying out the La Roche Posay one, as they mentioned they are having a bonus promotion right now. Something like a 300ml for $17? I believe. Oh, just remembered I forgot about Moisture Surge Face Spray Thirsty Skin Relief. I use that too depending on my skin.

4 Favourites from May

Annabelle Smoothie in Down 2 Earth (LE from last year, but I got at Lisa’s Cosmetic Sale)
Annabelle CC Compact *, easy to tote for day touch ups. Not a fan of the brush, as it is rough, but there is also a mirror in the bottom compartment. The YSL gel blush was a product that was handed down to me by Meredith of Etu and You. It is VERY light in terms of colour for me, but it gave me a hint of colour that didn’t make me look too made up. The Innisfree Vivid Tint Rouge in #10 has been a staple for me. Just a lovely colour. The Tokidoki Roller Ball Perfume is Adios (the black skull one), that I picked up on clearance at Sephora. For some reason this scent had been my go to for May. Plus it was easy to tote. On the days I didn’t want to use too much colour, I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil in Sin. It helped neutralize my lids, and give it a slight pop of colour. The two go to lipsticks were Marcelle’s Rouge Expression in Attitude *, and Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Soft Rose (my default lipstick).

I forgot to add this in the picture, but I bought the Marcelle Soothing Cleansing Water when I found it on sale. I had been hearing about this A LOT as it seems to be a staple for many on twitter. I can TOTALLY understand the hype. Basically it does melt products quite decently, but what I like about it more is for another reason. I actually won a giveaway that was hosted by MACnunu for Shu Uemura. Anyway I had mentioned I might get one of the Cleansing Oils, but Christine mentioned that it wasn’t a wash off, so to keep that in mind. Most of my oils are not wash offs, so I hadn’t thought about that. When it gets warmer, you do want to just come home and remove your face makeup. Usually I just use a baby wipe to remove it, and then wash my face later on when I am about to get to bed. Washing my face twice, when my face is always on the oily side, would aggravate it more. That is when the Cleansing water comes in handy. It does say to put it on a cotton pad, but I have squirted a pump in to my cupped hand, and then applied to one side of my face. Repeat on the other side. Then I massage my face for a minute, and rise off.

5 Summer Time Skin Care

Sometimes it gets too warm, and I can’t fall asleep. So I usually stash a few sheet face masques in the fridge. That way I can cool my face and then fall asleep a little better. The sheet masques that I use are the My Beauty Diary ones, which can be found at T&T (that is the black and white on, bottom). The Innisfree ones are new that my friend brought back from Korea with my haul. The other one is The Face Shop Pearl masque. The Hello Kitty one was so cute I needed to add it. I received two of these from Watercoloursky to try out.

Other things I find important for myself is clay masques. I usually use the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque, but I hate the removal. Luckily Montagne Jeunesse has come out with their clay infused sheet masques *. I wrote about the event I went to HERE.

Finally, when it warms up, I use Clinique Moisture Surge. I find that this isn’t very helpful for me during the winter, but it is light enough to use in the summer. Then there is eyecream, in this case I am still using the Vasanti Eyewonder. I find that it moisturizes my eyes, helps to minimize the look of my dark circles, and generally just helps with a smoother application of makeup in the morning.

6 Makeup Tip

When the weather starts getting warmer (or I need them to last), I apply Urban Decay Primer Potion on my eyebrows (sometimes on the lips depending on the product). I rub in a little, wait for it to dry a bit, then apply the brow powder. It will make it harder to blend, so take your time when shaping your brow.

On a side note, my UDPP is taped up because it basically split around the neck of the product. Was SUPER annoying. Should have got it exchanged, but I only started using it nearly a year after I bought it, so didn’t think I could return it to Sephora anymore. Anyway I depot it, and then tape it up so that it doesn’t dry out too quickly.

7 Look- Day Time Fabulous

When it get warmer, I get lazier. Bad, I know. Anyway I like to keep things simple, so I go for a soft wash of colour, slightly winged liner, and then kick it up with a brighter lip.

They are having various promotions, and I was able to snag tights for their 10/$10 deal. There weren’t many sizes, but they had a lot of colours. They aren’t too bad for $1, especially if you can find the fleece lined ones! I LOVE them in the winter, the only way I can wear skirts in the winter really. Fell in love with them back in the winter of 2010, and have been using them ever since.
