It was a beautiful green that I couldn’t help but wanting to bring home, despite having…a Helmer and a half full of polish. oTL
Again, not a post to protest Valentine’s Day (though, yes I am spending it single), more so that it isn’t along the colours of red, white, or pink that we typically see. You can see the first one HERE.
I had COMPLETELY forgotten that I had these nail art stickers. I had bought them YEARS ago…seriously…5 years? Maybe more. In any case, since I have been back, I have been tossing and reorganizing my room at my parents. Since I came across the stickers, I figured I should put them to use. Upclose, you can see that they have greenish glitter. Not very pretty. But, thankfully you can’t see them in the pictures xD
I really had no proper thought for a title. So, Anti Valentine’s it is! lol
Not that I am really anti, I guess the anti part would be the fact that it isn’t the typically red, white, or pink polish you would normally see.
Honestly, I just missed using my nail polish. Having been in Korea for 2 years, I know I could have bought cheap polish. But, with the things that I do, I couldn’t maintain unchipped for very long. Nor did I want to wait patiently until they dried.
Sooo…everyone I know seems to be sick. The weather going nutso kind of does to people. In any case, I got a cold, and still trying to recover. Doesn’t help when I am constantly around people who are sick too lol. Oh well, I blame my poor immune system >_<
In any case, being sick means that we need to take extra care. We wash our hands more, we cough in our sleeves. But, if you wear makeup, you want to take extra care there as well.
Of course, there are those that don't bother with makeup when they are sick. I am not one of them. It is here, that palettes and spatulas come in handy. I put some of the products on the palette, and dab from there, rather than straight from the product. I also try to wash my brushes even more frequently (use them once, and then put in the pile to wash). When it comes to pencils I sharpen.
These pictures were from last year…but they still apply so I thought I would use them. It is actually funny to see these now…as my brows are fatter! I've been trying to grow them for the last year (my brows are so pathetic, they take forever to grow), but I thought I wasn't seeing progress. But, yay! not a HUGE difference, but the fact that I also fatten them up with brow products also helps :P
I used CoverFX (pro pots that I bought a few years back), to cover up redness around the nose. I dabbed the MUFE HD foundation around the areas that needed a bit of cover, such as the cheeks. Lip products to plump my the dead lips that were dry, then brows and mascara.
I get that this is a lot of others who would be sick.
Are you the type to disregard makeup during the coughing fit, or one to pretend you aren’t sick?
For my purposes, I don’t use lipstick exclusively, so “lipstick” here will mean general lip products (but not including clear balms. Cause that’s another story)
How many lipsticks do you own?
Way too many for a gal who doesn’t use lipsticks as much as she should -__- For sure under 100, but over 50. But that includes glosses, tints…hmmm…maybe it is over a 100…oh wow…
What was your first ever lipstick?
I was about grade 5 or 6, and I got this black lipstick from Wet n Wild, for the Halloween party at school. We were forced to come with a costume, so Mom and I rushed to Pharma Plus so I could buy a Witches hat. I paired it with a black dress that I had. Then when I got to school, a girl I knew said it was too plain, so she said I could buy her lipstick from her. I paid a dollar lol. Then there was a Bonnebell Mocha tint balm that my friend gave me…that I dropped on to the tracks at St George Subway station. That was a sad day.
What is your favourite brand for lipstick?
Hmm…this one is hard. I would have to narrow it down to Innisfree, and Revlon. Since my budget doesn’t really allow me to buy expensive ones frequently…but if I did, it would include the YSL, Shiseido (I get them when I can at the sale in Markham) or Guerlain (Mom loves them). But I also do love my drugstore ones a lot, like Marcelle and Annabelle, as the formula is just right for me.
What is your most worn lipstick?
Benefit Lady’s Choice (I think its DC’ed now but still have one in backup. I hoarded it), Revlon Kissable Balm Stains in Crush, Revlon Berry Couture, Vasanti Sweden, and I am trying to wear the YSL one a lot more too…while trying to save it at the same time lol
What is your favourite finish?
Cream..tint? As long as it isn’t a glittery mess, I’ll wear it.
How many lipsticks do you currently have in your handbag? (Including balms and glosses)
I got two balms, Revlon Raspberry Pie, YSL Volupte Sheer Candy #4, and Stila Pomegranate Crush Stain. Not too bad :)
How do you store your lipsticks?
In a Fererro Roche container, for the ones I don’t use as often. I have this 24 slot container I bought from BIC for the ones I do use more regularly. Then I have a container from Dollarama (love these) that I store off season ones.
(Covergirl on the Left, Vasanti on the Right)
What lipstick do you use to rock a red lip?
Vasanti USA, or Cover Girl Seduce. I like darker reds, and yet I like these even though they aren’t as dark as I like them normally. USA is a little dry at times, but still very pretty.
What lip products are you currently lusting after?
I’m not allowed to lust after more products! Haha…but really, I don’t. I think because I have so many, and it has finally registered, I don’t really have lemmings. If I had to say, then it would be the new products that Joe Fresh came out with in the spring. However they aren’t expensive, so it isn’t like I can’t pick them u right now.
Hi! The winner has been contacted. Thank you everyone for entering :) It was nice seeing new names pop up in the entry list!
Good Morning All!
Today I wanted to share an EOTD that I did about two weeks back. I basically didn’t wear makeup for a week, so when my Mom decided to go out for lunch, I thought I would do something fun.
Annabelle Smoothie in Absinthe-Minded*
Annabelle Pigment Dust in Eco Chic (LE/unavailable)
The Body Shop University of the Arts London LE Palette Matte Black Shadow (LE/unavailable)
Marcelle Double Precision Liquid Eyeliner*
Revlon Lash Potion
I applied Absinthe-Minded all over the lid and the lower lash line. I then patted on Eco Chic (which I snagged from the Lisa’s Cosmetic Sale) on the lid over Absinthe-Minded. I then needed a matte black shadow, and chose the Body Shop London Palette because the pigmentation payoff is a little poor. It allows me to have more control over the black shadow. But really any black shadow will do. I took the black shadow and blended it in to the outer edge of the lid. whatever was left on the brush, I dragged over the inner part of the lid, on the edge of Absinthe minded so define it a bit. I also added a bit of black to the outer lower half to darken it up. I used Double Precision to line, and brushed on Lash Potion. The end.
It was good putting my pigments to use again. They have been quite neglected in my stash. Which is a shame as I do have a few wonderfully gorgeous ones.
Anyway, remember I announced on FB that I should have had a giveaway? Well that was sponsored by Beauty United, but things came up and I couldn’t participate. Which sucks I know. So I thought I would do one on my own. It isn’t as grand (as it is OOP), but hopefully will still be useful. Oh, its for Canadians only. Go check out the Pantene/CoverGirl/Olay Youtube page Looking Glass and tell me which look you liked the best. Was there a product that really stood out to you, making you want to reach in to the computer screen? Once you’ve picked on, click on the Rafflecopter link to make my life easier. It ends in a week!
Okay that is enough out of me. As this post goes up, I will be cramming to take a test I was granted a makeup for. Woo. It shouldn’t be too hard, but breaking down poems is actually a little more difficult that I would have liked. Plus it doesn’t help that my Prof thinks my writing is not very fun (Can formal essay format be fun??). I won’t complain too much though, as I think he is an interesting Prof for the course.
Alright, hope you all have a great day :)
If you are reading this on a reader, you might not see the Instagram photos. You will either need to check out my Instagram HERE, or check out the post. If you can, then yay :)
Another fun day of products on my face :)
I found the Quo by Orly mini LED lamp on clearance. Such a great deal. Too bad the other locations didn’t have it this cheap. I also got my Bdellium brushes that Pixelbunnie ordered for me through Beyond the Rack. Such a great deal, that I was super happy to get it.
My 500th post on Instagram…and of course it was of the deer. I haven’t seen them in awhile, but there was a bunch on campus that day. These guys were younger, and chunkier. But they were just so content with eating the bark and whatever they could on the branches, I just stood memorized by them, and just taking pictures.
I’ve been trying to share posts on “what is on my face”. For Saturday, that is what I had. On the weekends, I find that I include a few more products. I didn’t realize, but it is just as Procrastinating Pretty said, its cause we have more time. Do you end up putting on more, or do you take a break?
Oh I gotta love when I snag such great deals. I had a rough week, and needed me time…so I got out of the house…and rode the bus. Ideally I would have liked to walk along Lakeshore, but it was just a tad too cold for that. Anyway I stopped by a few SDM locations, and I got a few things. The everything here were $2 each, but I was able to use a Revlon coupon for $2 off. So well, it was cheap! Anyway, SDM is doing their clearout of a lot of stuff, so if you are bored, check the shelves for clearance tags, and check out their isolated clearance section as well :) Anyway, I’m excited to try out the FUSE Gelnamel. I didn’t even realize that it was part of Sensationail! In any case, I want to try it out because it boasts just one coat. No base or top coat! So it should be interesting.
