Pain into Laughter…

You can turn painful situations around through laughter. If you can find humor in anything, even poverty, you can survive it.

– Bill Cosby

So I’ve been going through a minor rough patch. The one thing that made me temporarily happen, is now like forbidden fruit to me. So I’m back to just trying to survive and deal with it the normal way.

But today, as I was helping out my mom, doing her bidding, I read the Toronto Star from Tuesday (or was it Wednesday…)

In the fun comics, sudoku section, there was this “complete the quote” type of puzzle. It leaves certain areas blank, and jumbled up the words in the word bank.

And that was the quote.

As stated in WIKI

Therapeutic benefits

The analgesic effect of laughing has been showed in many studies. This is especially available for the relief of chronic pain in arthritis, spine lesions, neurological diseases etc. Doctors are of opinion that laughing brings about the secretion of endorphins into blood. More than that, it is known that laughing is a strong muscle-relaxing method, which also relieves pain.

Our immune system reacts to laughter in an opposite way as it reacts to stress. People who like to laugh a lot rarely get sick. An experiment has even showed that mothers who laugh a lot have babies who seldom catch cold.

The laughter is considered to be a method of fighting stress (it inhibits the secretion of 4 main stress hormones). Recently, Japanese scientists discovered that laughing directly influences glucose level in blood.

the point is…laugh, and it will be alright…eventually…I hope.

So lets go on to some pictures. Of the random crap I have accumulated…

I picked up some CG polishes…mainly cause of the $1 off coupon…but unfortunately I didn’t realize that it was one coupon per purchase! So yeah…I reget getting more than one…lol.

I also got the facial buff, cause I needed something like that. (My skin is ridiculous and I’m too lazy to mix proper crap for exfoliating my skin.) This is just easier.

I received my card wallet, that I bought from ebay, which originates from Korea. I had originally found something on Gmarket that I LOVED, but realized that the shipping here would have killed me. I wish they had the other designs that they showed on the page…but they only made this one available >_< Oh well…its still…cute…despite me not liking birds of any kind…

I also kinda received my polish from Toma aka Makeupmasala. Except apparently I was supposed to pay customs. My dad called me when I was at Costco. I made a WTF face and told the mailman (my dad put him on the phone) and said I would pick it up at the PO later on. Of all the years of buying crap from the states, this is the first time that I have had to pay fees. So in a sense I am lucky…but it pisses me off that I had to pay. So I will have to see how they are charging me, cause according to my payment, they are telling me to pay just under 37% of the cost of the products. Which is ridiculous seeing as tax here is 13%, and I know that I have to pay extra handling charges…but an extra 24% in handling charges?! Now thats messed up. So we will see. Most likely I will have to suck it up. Sucks that I can’t get to play with those lovely things until Monday. Its the earliest I can go to pick them up. Le Sigh.

Anyway, its almost the end of February…crazy.

Which also means it’s almost March *grins*
