The Choice : Nicholas Sparks

Amazon

Haha…with all the linking to Wiki, Amazon, or Imbd, some of you are gonna think I’m gettig paid or something. But as you will soon realize, I am worth nothing to them, seeing as I don’t attract enough attention. I link cause I’m either a) too lazy to write my own synopsis b) don’t want to torture you with detail that could be easily written in a few short sentences, compared to my ridiculously long ones :P

So back to Nick Sparks.
I wasn’t a fan.  And even still, am not completely taken with him. I, unlike the many others, did not find The Notebook, or that other one that got made into a movie, fan. I just thought, “Oh. Interesting. Next!”

It never really caught me. Maybe age changes my perspective, cause I decided to give him a go with Dear John.

The story for The Choice, wasn’t absolutely captivating for me, but it was the first part of the book that forced me to finish this story.
Travis, waiting, with a bouquet of flowers. Waiting to see his wife, as he ponders how did life turn out this way.

One thing I can say…is that for the most part, I can guess what happens in the end. But with just the intro on the inside book cover, and not having read the intros given on sites, I had no idea. So I predicted something completely different from what was actually presented. And I think that’s what caught my eye/mind. The fact that I was completely blind sighted by this novel. It doesn’t happen often, and yet I loved that it happened. It lead my emtions, and thoughts, one way, while turning another.

Anyway to sum up, it was an interesting read. Awkward cause of the time jump, but he fills that in somewhat decently so you aren’t confused.

But in the end.

You can’t help but wonder…
About the choice…
