Bee Cheng Hiang in Myeong Dong, Seoul

A few weeks back, I was talking about how I was going to Myeong Dong over the weekend. My coworker got all excited, and decided to join me.

The reason for this?

Her favourite BBQ’ed meat from Singapore could be found there.

They have opened two locations within Myeong Dong, and can be found in vacuum sealed packages in various parts of Korea in department stores.

It is a little expensive, considering it was (I think) 100grams for about $10CAN.

However, she said it best.

As soon as you put it in your mouth, you are drooling.

I truly was. I had to do everything I could to try and preserve the last piece for the next morning, just so I could photograph it.

  1. And i’m back. Since 1933 well i’ll be damned! They were around in colonial Singapore days. Maybe the british subjects went to bee cheng hiang. My singaporean blogger friend once recorded a video of herself speaking english and saying subway stops in cantonese. They have an interesting accent. I’ve never had this in my life – never really eaten beef jerky either. Maybe i try one day.

    good review!
