Friday Night Live at the ROM

*This post is about an event I attended with tickets I purchased with my own funds. I was not compensated for this post in any way. Also I took pictures with my Nexus…which doesn’t really cooperate with me, so my pictures are very poor in quality. But hopefully the general point is made :)*

Last night (Friday Evening), a few friends and I met up at the ROM to check out Friday Night Live.

Basically this is when the ROM decides to open up its doors, to the public to dance, snack, and drink. It provides a way for local talent to play some music, and for the public to enjoy the exhibits in a different way.

In any case, this is something that has gone on for a little while, but I only JUST heard of it.

You can check out more info on the website HERE

But generally, adult admission is $12. In addition, if you would like to buy drinks or food, you will need to purchase ROM Bucks tickets, $6 each, and can be redeemed for one drink, or one food item. These tickets can be purchased at throughout the ROM, or at the front desk when you pick up a ticket.

If you plan to check it out, I would HIGHLY suggest that you buy tickets online. Last night my friends and I waited from 6:45, and got in about 8:20ish. We waited outside for nearly all of it, then 10 minutes inside to buy tickets, and get our coats checked in. If you buy your tickets in advance, you can skip that ridiculous line, and head right in. When it is cold like it was last night, you will be thankful to have done that. Unfortunately, the only tickets you can buy since I last checked (at the time of this post), is the last day for this years FNL; December 6, 2013. So if you want to check it out, GET THE NOW!

Anyway, I would really suggest you check it out. I wish they were open later, but they open around 8, and close at about 11. Really wish they would extend it to 12 at the very least…but I guess that is wishful thinking on my part.

In any case, there are different things that you can view all over the ROM. Generally food stations are spread out all over as well, so you can pick up a pamphlet at the front, and check out what you would like to hunt down. There are decent amounts of seats spread about as well, so if you need a seat to eat, it shouldn’t take long to hunt one day.
