Such a fail…I know.
This post should have happened sooner, but I wanted to transcribe the recordings I took during the event. Well guess what? Turns out when I switched to the Nexus 4, I didn’t transfer the files on the iPhone. Fail! lol
So here I will do what I can.
I did post pictures on my Facebook Page, but here is a few more.
There are I believe 34 bloggers in the program. Unfortunately I don’t know them all, but I hope that there will be another chance that I can introduce myself to them. You can catch some of the other posts HERE.
Basically, this program means that I get access to some products or events, which is a lovely opportunity for my blog. I have already been a part of a few things (Getting to join in a Google Hangout, or checking out the Janelle Monae concert). And can’t wait to participate in more in the future.
In any case, I was excited about joining this program, mainly because of the fact that they reached out to bloggers not just in my local area, but from the west and east coast! (The two that I got to meet who were in town were Gerry from PbunnieP, and Annick from thesmallthingsinlife)
In any case, this is a fabulous opportunity for me, and can’t wait to share the goods and the experiences I have with it :)
Anyway, the event was hosted at the Trump Hotel Downtown Toronto. I gotta say, it is one lovely venue. I would love to do a staycation there :P
In the picture we have Steph of Fun Sized Beauty, through who I got to meet Michelle.
One of the great things about this event was that I got to meet lovely individuals whom I had chatted on twitter with, and see faces I haven’t seen in awhile :)
I look back on this picture of the treats with VERY fond memories that we were spoiled with :P
The event started off with presentations of some information gathering that went on with P&G. It was interesting as it was a conference call type of deal.
“We have used makeup, and have always used makeup for what it can do for us and to others”
“We set out to answer the following:
Does wearing make-up, as well as well as applying it differently and in different combinations, impact snap judgement?
Do a person’s impressions of someone wearing different make-up combinations change over time?”
The variables they were testing out…
The finding’s were kind of interesting. The picture gets a little bigger if you click on it. Hopefully you can see most of it though.
We then got a two different talks on looks that were big for this fall.

Sleek hair and bold metallic red shadow. Red seems to be hard to pull off at times, but is all about finding the way to make it work for you. So have fun, experiment :)

Big hair and Lush lips. I want big hair. It doesn’t really stay that way though…but one of the products I’ve been trying has been helping out a bit, so yay! Regarding lush lips…well I am still working on that one, but I’m getting there!
As a general comment, don’t you just love when two people work so well together? I loved that the passion from each part of the teams meshed so well with the other.
It was then time for us to browse the products that were being featured that night.
Well before that, can I just mention that I LOVED the washroom at the Trump?! Loved the black interior as well as its lush wallpaper.
Venus Razors which had different interchangeable heads. I got a box of blade refills in my swag bag, and no razor. I probably would have been scratching my head had I not learned that they were interchangeable that night :P So luckily I do have a Venus razor, and will be using that for this refill box.
It has been a few years now, since this type of deodorant has been released on the market. I was super excited, and I have inherited my dad’s genes, and do sweat in all situations. I used the Secret one when it was first released, but have been trying out others since then, so I didn’t know they came out with additional scents. In addition they target different issues. I believe one was that it targeted stress sweat, which smells different from normal exercise sweating.
The 30 min strips aren’t new to me. My brother is a huge fan, and uses one box throughout the year as maintenance now. I accidently left mine on for over an hour (I got distracted with my Korean Dramas -___-), and left my teeth SUPER sensitive for days. So after that incident I let my teeth be, so they could recover. In any case, I think that they are great. I mean professional brightening is great, but costly. Anyway, don’t be like me, ensure that you use it for the specified time!
I have issues with trying to dye my hair brown-ish. It doesn’t actually suck in the colour. It was suggested to me that I try using a developer before dying my hair. I have enlisted the help of friends who dye their hair, and have done some more research, and I think I will be ready to embark on that tip this Christmas holiday…we will see :P
Such a little thing, but I love the red bottles. They stand out so well when you walk down the aisles. Anyway, these guys smell quite lovely. I am a pretty loyal Pantene user, so I haven’t tried out their shampoo and conditioner, but am working on the other products at the moment. Once in awhile there are coupons on the shelves in the stores, so check it out.
Budget friendly, maybe an alternative to the Clarisonic?? Well then…might be something to consider…
I did miss a few stations, so my last picture to share is…
Covergirl. Now I still have these cooling sensations eye shadow pencils that they had back in 2000. I had a light blue and a white one that I would incorporate in to my day. They are TINY now, but I can’t part with them, so they sit in a memory box that I have lol. Oh fun times. Okay enough reminiscing. The Covergirl station was fun. I loved that there was the screen with the demo happening, plus the pictures of their Hunger Games promotion. I am not that big in to the Hunger Games, truth be told, but I did appreciate the beauty in the looks that were created. If you don’t know what I am talking about, I mean to do a post on it soon, but go check out the website in the meantime. Such fun! Well most of them are quite interesting. Some of them don’t make much sense in terms of the District they are trying to represent. However some of them were quite fun to check out. Some might might you scratch your head. Regardless of what kind of reaction you have, at least they were able to coax a reaction out of you. Which means that it is imprinted in your memory anyway…which is what it was meant to do in the first place. On a side note, the collection is popping up in stores now, and if you are a polish nut, you will HAVE to check them out. I have seen swatches from the ladies in the US, and there are a few that make my heart flutter :P
Oh be still…be still…<3
Near the end of the event, while people were starting to leave, I got to join in on a small convo happening with some of the lades. It was such an honour to hang out with them, and to share some laughs~ As my tweet states :P (it was also an opportunity to get to know Amy of theprettyvain and Aleeza of Stylish & Literate~^^ both lovely ladies who were such fun to to take photobooth pictures with xD)
I also got to say hi to a few other lovely ladies I hadn’t seen in awhile (some a year, others a few months, regardless was great to see and say hi :)), like Meredith, Anna, Ande, Jenn (who was out lovely contact that evening), Elaine, Christine, and Enrica. Again that is only a small group of all of the ladies who were there, but can’t wait to meet the others throughout my time w BeautyUnited.
I took this as I was heading back home. The Sky Dome, and the CN Tower.
Some of the goodies that I was sent home with. Thanks P&G and MSL Group for them :D
Hair products are a little harder to write about, but I have enlisted my friend to try out the Herbal Essence one, that has 100% Moroccan argan oil extract. Not sure what the extract refers to…but I’m sure my friend will fill us both in when she gets back to me :) The Vidal Sassoon stuff is currently in my rotation, amongst a few other Pantene products, and I hope to report back soon.
I was also sent home with these goodies, which I still am working on trying. Have put a few thing in use, but still need some time.
In any case, being part of this group has been quite interesting thus far, and can’t wait to share some of the products that I have. In any case, I’m glad for this wonderful opportunity, and note that really nothing changes to much in terms of what happens on this blog. Yes, I might have access to these products, and yes I still encourage you to make your own judgements. However I am still here trying to show you products that I, myself, would be willing to spend money on, or not. I mean as a student (and other grown up bills like helping with the mortgage), I can’t spend money on everything I want to try out, so I am thankful for this partnership. In any case, I will always blog because I want to blog, and because I do it to share my own opinion on it. That won’t change kay :) what may change is that I get to meet more awesome people…but who doesn’t want to meet fun and fabulous people!? :D
*Disclosure: I am a #BeautyUnited blogger. As part of my affiliation with this group I receive products and special access to P&G events. The opinions on this blog are my own*
Great post!
Thanks Jenn~
