in a nutshell…

Jarvis Church

Posted by: rasilla on: June 27, 2009

So I was listening to the radio last night…and heard this one song. I recognized the voice immediately, as I was practically in love with the guy in my youth for his voice. It just appealed to me back in grade school. I figured they as a group, the group being the Philosopher Kings, had released a new album. Anyway I went online and checking the station song listings…and found that it wasn’t them. But rather a group called Jarvis Church. Confused because I am HARDLY ever wrong as pinpointing voices (one of my talents…if you can even call it that :T lol) I went to dear old wiki to figure out more.

Jarvis Church – So Beautiful

So apparently Jarvis Church is the main singer in Philosopher Kings! Wee so I was right :P

Philosopher Kings – You Don’t Love Me

Philosopher Kings – Cry

Just cause I wanted to add it as well. Two of the members (one former), created Prozzak as a side project, which was another fav of mine, and only realized in the past 6 months that they were branched from Philosopher Kings (in a way).

Funny how this group is all intertwined :)

Lyrics after the jump (lol…jump…never really got that reference, but I see it often~)

FIRST OFF

Because I noticed that there were no websites with the lyrics up…I wrote them up. Mainly cause I wanted to sing along…BUT without them out, I had difficulty :T

Anyway I’m pretty sure I got it alright…If I made a mistake do let me know.

AND IF YOU USE THIS, link back or something :) I’d appreciate it. But then again I’m sure this will end up on every site eventually…lol

Jarvis Church – So Beautiful

Young girl in the window,
So beautiful
When i see her when i see her,
I fall in love.

I often wonder,
Will she ever know.
How pretty she really is,
I wanna tell her so

Everyday I see her working,
With sadness in her eye.
What makes a girl like her feel so sad,
That she could ever cry

When she’s so…

So beautiful, so beautiful
So wonderful so wonderful
you need to know
you got it so

She works at the drivethru
Around the way
I don’t eat that fast food
But I go everyday

I just want to see her
Try to make her smile
Tell her that things will be alright
In a little while

I know her man don’t treat her like he should,
That much is plain to see
I’d give her the whole world if i could,
If she belonged to me

Cause she’s so…

chorus
So beautiful, so beautiful
So wonderful so wonderful
you need to know
you got it so
x2

Yeah

Girl

Wanna to get to know her
So that I can show her
Just how much I think she’s worth
Those suffering days are over

Wanna take her away from all this
New life that starts once we kiss
All i want is her tenderness
And her arms around my shoulder

So beautiful, so beautiful
So wonderful so wonderful
you need to know
you got it so

So beautiful, so beautiful
So wonderful so wonderful
you need to know
you got it so

The radio over here sucks, playing the same songs over and over again, even when you switch the channels. Hope you get your “ritual” this weekend. Let me know if you found any good deals.

That’s pretty cool, I never knew they were part of Prozzak. I loved Prozzak way back when!

lol I know! Isn’t it interesting the things we find out :P
I was stunned when I realized they were the same people :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Re: “So apparently Jarvis Church is the main singer in Philosopher Kings! Wee so I was right :P”

I’m sure I’m just arguing semantics here, but Gerald Eaton is/was the lead singer of The Philosopher Kings… “Jarvis Church” is a name he adopted from a pair of streets in TO.

Nitpicking aside, I totally agree – such a great voice, glad he’s still recording, whatever the name!

FWIW, I have the same ‘talent’ as you… makes for some fun wagers with friends.

LOL
you are completely right~
I was writing, assuming that everyone knew who the lead singer was XD
In my excitement I just left out the details, I assumed that once people checked out Wiki they would know
why he had named himself Jarvis Church. (Which as a side note, I thought was kinda cool.)

Anyway thanks for commenting and correcting^^
